World of Warcraft Druid
World of Warcraft Druid
Race Selection Tauren and Elves are the only races that can play as a Wow Druid. The Night Elf's racial agility advantage increases the chance of critical hits. Night Elfs also utilize their cat form more effectively.
Tauren, on the other hand, receive a warstomp ability that can stun all enemies in a certain radius. And the Tauren's extra 5% health can quite often make the difference between life and death. All of that said, a majority of players seem to prefer Night Elfs when they play the Druid.
Weapons The downside of the World Of Warcraft Druid's versatility reaps bad fruit at the expense of the damage the Druid can do. A two handed mace is the best weapon choice for the Druid. The two handed mace can deal whopping damage, and hitting the critical strike is all the better with the two handed mace. Axe and staves don't come close to the mace in terms of damage.
On a PVE server, being versatile makes Druids great at soloing. In PVP the time it takes to shapeshift can be costly. In the time it takes to shapeshift a couple of times, the Druid can be dead!
Talent Builds in PVP For Druids playing heavy PVP, avoid spending a lot of talent points in the Feral tree. Druids have some good non-shapeshifting PVP abilities such as moonfire, starfire, heal with regrowth, hibernate, and root. In cat or bear form the Druid can't cast damage spells and can't heal. Reverting between Feral form and caster may work in PVE, it would lead to defeat in PVP. So if you plan on heavy PVP play, go light on the Feral talents. If you primarily will play PVE, then Feral is a good tree to spend talents on. You can always recpec to try different builds.
The best approach can be debated. The shapeshifting abilities make a druid unique. But that aside, for PVP, a focus on restoration and balance for talent, and utilizing animal forms in emergencies rather than depending on them, will make a Druid a formidable dueler. The balance and restore talent trees compliment each other quite nicely, giving you another reason to focus your PVP Warcraft Druid on those talents. Druid Tactics Now, let's discuss tactics. The Druid is quite versatile, so he has many options. Let's look at some of the strategies to make a Druid successful.
First let's consider the role a Druid can play in a group. The Druid can function as a back up tank or a back up healer. However, the Druid functions better falling back, protecting the cloth wearers and sniping the mobs. The Druid also can use his animal forms for emergency crowd control. That bear form can take a lot of damage, pulling the hate away from cloth wearers. These roles add a lot of solidity to a group, letting the tanks and the healers do their jobs unimpeded. Stay back and snipe, heal, bodyguard the cloth wearers, and only use forms when a creature breaks the front line. The Wow Druid's Attributes Pretty much all attributes are important to the versatile Druid. Focus your gear on the following.
Bear form : Str/Stam
Cat form : Agility
Group healer : Intelligence
Soloing in Caster form : Primary Spirit, secondary Intelligence
The Druid's Professions A really good profession pick for the World Of Warcraft Druid is Alchemy and Herbalism. This gives the Druid the additions of potion buffs to his own buffs. The Druid thus has three sources of healing (spells, alchemy, and bandages). And three sources of healing really pumps up the Druid's longevity.
