<< Druid Guide The Role of the Warcraft Hunter >>
The World of Warcraft Hunter class excels in groups, in soloing, and in battlegrounds PVP. (Don’t bring your Warcraft Hunter to the Arena, unless you like death, defeat, and humiliation.) The Hunter is a great part of any group; they pull to start a fight, redirect threat to the Tank, trap mobs to keep them out of the fight until you’re ready to deal with them, and pump in quite high ranged damage, and they can do all of that in a single battle!
Warcraft Hunters have pets that add DPS and versatility. They can also track, tame and train animals and beasts found in the wild. Half the fun of being a Hunter is training your pets.
World of Warcraft Hunters will have trouble if a melee mob or player gets right up on them. They also have trouble with caster classes. But if the World of Warcraft Hunter manages to stay at range and can pull out all of their tricks, they are a very formidable foe.
Suggested Professions
Hunters wear Leather (or Cloth, but don’t!) gear until level 40, when they gain the ability to wear mail. This means that WoW Hunters will benefit from either Leatherworking / Skinning combo or a Blacksmithing / Mining combo. However, neither combo is perfect; the Warcraft Hunter stops wearing leather in favor of mail, and Blacksmithing focuses more on plate than mail.
Mostly any profession will work as well for the Hunter (excluding Tailoring).
